An astonishing
and marvelous AHA moment happened last weekend.
While
going through the rooms and closets of my parents house
in readiness for my father's downsizing move, I came across this
batik art hanging amongst my mothers things. It was something
I'd acquired when I was about 17 from a family friend of my boyfriend.
This entrepreneur lead a magical life going around to Indonesia
and buying up fabulous fabrics and selling them back in Canada.
It was 1977 and I was utterly enchanted by her exotic lifestyle.
This hanging was amongst many lovely items I bought from her.
Around
the same time I heard the word 'Kathmandu' for the first
time and felt an immediate attraction to this place and promised
myself I'd got there one day.

Last
weekend, the hanging was out in my workshop studio. It
was then that I discovered a photo on the wall that spoke of the
mysterious manifestations that happen regardless of my awareness.
I spied on my wall an identical image, taken
of me on my Himalayan trek in Nepal. See me with my red knapsack
overlooking the Himalayan town of Namche Bazaar and the river
valley below. This photo was taken in winter of 1991!
It
was on this month long trek that I made my commitment
to study for my dream of becoming a therapist and living a meaningful
life. I began my training in Gestalt Therapy 9 months after my
return.
It
was during the early evolution of Aziza Healing Adventures,
launched in 2002 that I developed a lifestyle that included Bali,
Indonesia as an integral part of my work and lifestyle. Since
2004 I've spent a total of 1.5 years in Bali! Each time I return
with beautiful batik treasures to share and sell.

A
remarkable full circle within another full circle.
