This poem was written to Lisbet Trier Rosner. It was inspired by the loss of her husband, Jorge Rosner, co founder of the Gestalt Institute of Toronto.

Mourning Greeting

If I gave you a rose
would you know that I love you?
Would you understand
that you are loved by so much more?
By the sun and the moon
and the continuing night
that bears witness to your pain
and gathers up your tears
offering them to the stars
to thread one by one.

Ten thousand teardrops
kissed gently by light
a sweet string of hope
to hang in the night.

Love greets you my dear one,
and so do I.
